A personal bus board for the trips you actually take in Columbus.

What it does

Most transit apps are built for planning a journey you've never made before. CBus is built for the opposite case: the same handful of trips you take every week, already pinned, already sorted, with the next few arrival times visible the moment you open the app.

You pin the trips that matter — a route, a boarding stop, and a direction — and the board shows what's coming. With location access granted, the stop you're standing nearest floats to the top, so the trip you're about to take is the one you see first.

• Live arrival estimates Real-time predictions for your pinned stops, not just the printed timetable.
• Browse and pin any trip Search every route, direction, and stop in the system, then save the ones you use.
• Home-screen widget Next departures without unlocking into the app.
• Route map Watch buses move along the line in real time.
• Track a bus Follow a specific vehicle on your Lock Screen as it approaches.
• Timetable fallback Scheduled times remain available when live data can't be reached.

Where the data comes from

CBus reads the public transit data feeds that the Central Ohio Transit Authority publishes for developers — the scheduled timetable and route shapes, plus the real-time arrival and vehicle-position feeds. Because it shows live information, the app needs a network connection for arrival estimates; scheduled times are stored in the app and work offline.

CBus is an unofficial app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or supported by the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA), and COTA is not responsible for the app. "COTA" is referenced only to describe the transit system the app serves.

Arrival times are predictions. Live estimates come from a third-party feed and can be late, early, missing, or wrong — buses get detoured, vehicles drop offline, and feeds go down. Treat the app as a convenience, not a guarantee, and don't rely on it where missing a bus would genuinely matter. Always follow posted signage and the operator's own information.

Availability

CBus is still being built and is not yet available on the App Store. Features described here are planned and may change before release, and the final name may change as well.
