Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Orith Apps LLC ("Orith Apps", "we", "us") handles information on this website, orithapps.com, and describes the general approach we take across our applications.

Each app has its own privacy policy. Our apps do different things and therefore handle information differently — one may work entirely on your device while another needs a network connection to be useful at all. The privacy policy published with an individual app, and linked from its App Store listing, is the policy that governs that app. Where it differs from this page, the app's own policy controls.

1. This website

This site is a small set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, embeds no third-party content, shows no advertising, and contains no forms. We do not ask you for any information in order to read it.

The site is served by Amazon Web Services, which processes ordinary technical request data — such as IP address, timestamp, requested page, and browser user agent — to deliver pages and protect the service against abuse. We have not enabled visitor logging on this site, and we do not use such data to build profiles or combine it with anything else.

2. Our apps, in general

We aim to collect as little as an app needs to do its job. In practice that means:

Some apps do need information to function. An app that shows live transit arrivals, for example, needs a network connection and may use your device's location to work out which stop you are nearest. Where that is the case, the relevant app's privacy policy sets out what is used, why, who it goes to, and how long it is kept.

3. Location

Where an app uses location, iOS will ask your permission first, and you can change or withdraw that permission at any time in the Settings app. Declining may mean a location-dependent feature is unavailable or falls back to a manual search, but it will not prevent you from using the app generally.

4. Third-party data sources

Some of our apps draw on publicly published data from third parties — for example, transit agency feeds or government astronomy and place-name data. When an app requests data from such a source, that source's operator will necessarily see the technical details of the request, including your device's IP address, and handles it under its own privacy practices, over which we have no control.

5. Purchases

Any purchase made in our apps is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details. Apple provides us with anonymous, aggregated sales reporting. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

6. Email and support

If you write to support@orithapps.com, we receive your message, your email address, and anything you choose to include. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you have reported. We keep support correspondence no longer than is useful for that purpose, and we do not add you to any marketing list.

7. Children

Our apps are general-audience tools and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information a company holds about you — including, under the EU and UK GDPR, rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability, and under the California Consumer Privacy Act, rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. As set out above, we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

To exercise any right, email support@orithapps.com. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. In many cases we will hold no personal information about you at all, and we will tell you plainly when that is so. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Where we are

Orith Apps LLC is based in the United States, and information we do receive — such as a support email — is handled there.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information in our care. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. To report a security concern, see our security contact.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as our apps change. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Material changes affecting an individual app will be reflected in that app's own policy.
